[edit]I tried to smooth out the article in a couple of spots and added minor bits of information. I also mentioned Katrina and the move to Decatur, Georgia. That may need updating fairly quickly. - Rlvaughn 00:27, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
I revised the article's grammar and added the information about the SBC decision to keep NOBTS in New Orleans. I also added Headings to better orient the reader. I deleted the part about the seminary being mostly above sea level (about 1 mile above sea level due to its being on Gentilly Ridge) because it seemed irrelevant and the seminary was flooded anyway. --146.229.139.228 19:04, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Paul Lanier, 1:02 pm, 14 December 2005
Catalogue of NOBTS Buildings
[edit]Purpose of this project is to give those who have not visited the seminary an idea of what it looks like. This project serves as a timestamp if the seminary ever gets destroyed by another hurricane. This project will also be used for those who want to research the history of a particular building.
I am in the process of cataloguing all of the NOBTS buildings on campus including Providence Guest House. Not included will be the faculty housing as faculty are rotated out nor is the faculty housing on an individual scale of much importance. However, a "blanket" shot of Seminary place looking down the street at the faculty homes addressed with a "one statement fits all" I feel is okay. The exception to this would be the President's home as I feel it warrants mention.
Pictures of NOBTS buildings on an individual basis I think should be kept to two pictures at most to control "clutter".
I am also looking for the following information to be included with the photos: Name of building: Purpose of building: Date building was constructed: President of seminary at time of construction: Location of building: (ex: 1234 Lipsey street at Providence Place)
If you are interested in participating view the current photos to get a general idea of the shots, pick up a camera, grab a pen and notebook, and start taking shots! John Ball 20:42, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Seminary Offices
[edit]Needed is information about the different offices in the seminary whether they be located in the Hardin Student Center or elsewhere. Please add the information as you find it and make note where you found it (unless you added it yourself). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Exocetcm (talk • contribs)
Notable Landmarks
[edit]Needed is pictures and information about notable landmarks of the seminary. Notable landmarks are buildings of interest that the public (outside seminary walls) frequent or see and immediately think "thats the Baptist seminary" (such as the steeple at Leavell chapel). What is not a notable landmark would be the a building such as the Oaks or Dodd Faculty. These would fall under the section of Catalogue of NOBTS Buildings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Exocetcm (talk • contribs)
Recent changes to NOBTS Main Article
[edit]In response to recent changes by Orlady: "remove promotional links and nonencyclopedic detail; this article has other issues that I have not addressed)" 1) The links to external websites referenced in the main NOBTS article such as the Providence Guest House, LifeSongs Radio, etc are no more promotional than external links in the [Coca-Cola article or similar articles on Wikipedia. 2) Removal of the Gentilly Postal Plus: This is a USPS recognized postal office located on the campus of New Orleans Baptist Seminary. I can't find any other university in New Orleans which has a USPS station on their campus. To me this is fairly unique especially since it services an entire zip code. 3) Lifesongs radio: Another unique aspect about this campus is that is houses a multi-parish radio station. The NOBTS article isn't listing all data about LifeSongs but that it houses it here on their campus. No different than Tulane University's Popular Culture references in which on their site they list their radio station... why can't ours be listed on our university page? Louisiana College even lists their radio station on their Wikipedia page: Louisiana College 4) Another public forum for both Christians and atheists, the Greer-Heard Point-Counterpoint Forum is a public open forum. Once again, unique to our campus.
If you are going to remove the information on the NOBTS page, make sure that you extend your "policies" to every other college and university whether public or private with similar uniqueness and information.

- Excuse me for attempting to apply Wikipedia standards of quality to this article. Don't look to me for help when it is nominated at WP:AFD for being an unsourced collection of promotional material and nonencyclopedic trivia. --Orlady 03:11, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:NOBTSSeal.jpg
[edit]Image:NOBTSSeal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
